Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B to create a unique mix. From Broadway to European festival and clubs, the singer has done work everywhere. Her real name is Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta but she is in Chester Pennsylvania where she began music by performing and playing piano in churches. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship in the Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released exclusively in Japan and has been remixed since by numerous producers and is an essential part of her live sets. She has also contributed her voice to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she was the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) was approached for a position as director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine rose to prominence throughout the four performances in 2008. Democratic National Convention. Sunshine sang at Barack Obama's 2009 Inauguration.
