Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. She hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature hairstyle and her pumped up appearance, offers the basics of cooking that anyone can master. Chef Burrell is also a part of the top New York establishments, been studying the Italian food and culture as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up in New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. Following her graduation with an English and Communication diploma at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the restaurant business by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America. She states "I was a huge Culinary Institute of American student. I loved every minute of it." It was impossible to take enough pleasure from the experience. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. When she was in Italy, Chef Burrell acquired an appreciation for and understanding of Italian cuisine. It made a huge impact on how she views food. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of kids facing difficulties. Burrell is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador where she advocates for education about children with diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and teacher, she travels around the United States to discuss her culinary passion and profession. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate in that she could share her true passion with others.
